Learning and growing in a family setting

What we do

Each day we cover indoor play, outdoor play, stories, music and art time. I am a big believer in letting the children help create our program (age dependent), therefore we are following their interests. Their ideas are being heard and I know we are implementing play that they enjoy.

Excursions

I love being outdoors, exploring the world around us and interacting with the community. Therefore, a big part of our program is going on excursions. Some excursions may include;

  • Playgroups to give the children an opportunity to interact with other children from the community

  • Visiting local parks

  • DIY kids classes at Bunnings

  • Visiting other local Family Daycares

  • Bushwalks

  • Outings to the library to borrow books and participate in their singing/dancing and story time.

Before we start adventuring outside Little Daisy’s, I wait for all the children to feel comfortable with me, and our bond and trust is strong.

My name is Jessie Jamieson, and I am 26 years old. I have a diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and have worked in Childcare since 2014.

A wise person once told me if you love your job you do not work a day in your life, and I feel this resonates with me.

My partner and I decided to go travelling in November 2019. We packed my Family Daycare and all our belongings into a storage shed and set off overseas. Unfortunately, this did not go exactly to plan and we returned to Australia in June 2020.

We both decided to make the most of the unfortunate situation and travelled through Australia. What an awesome time we had!!

After almost 1.5 years of travelling it is now time to settle back into our normal lives and doing what we love most. #littledaisys

Reassurance

Some children jump straight into Little Daisy’s, but some others need a little more reassurance. Therefore, we need to work together for the best transition for your child.

Parents are always welcome at Little Daisy’s, however, I look forward to having a conversation with you in regards to how I can best cater for your child’s needs and make it a positive transition into their next very important stage of development

I will keep you updated throughout the day, sending you photos and giving you an honest description of your child’s day.

What to bring

We do our best to always be sun smart. I provide sunscreen, however if your child prefers a certain sunscreen pack it in their bag. Please also bring a wide brim hat for your child, which you can leave at Little Daisy’s if you wish.

Other things to bring:

- A lunchbox filled with healthy food and snacks to get your child through our busy day

- A change of clothes

- Footwear

- Nappies (if required)

Even though I appreciate a great outfit, please bear in mind that we have a very active day and playing outdoors can get a little messy… Painting, jumping in puddles, gardening, getting our hands and feet dirty :)
